With the focus on our large New Zealand clients, the Corporate Banking team will always ensure we have the right conversations with our clients and present them with the value-added advice, products and services for their specific needs.

Our Assistant Vice President’s are part of the Relationship Management Team who build and grow our long-term relationships with clients; addressing their most complex banking needs, helping them to succeed in their businesses by solving problems and realizing opportunities. Our Bankers act as the primary contact point through which our clients access Citi’s capabilities; they develop integrated financing strategies for the client and orchestrate the delivery of relevant parts of Citi's coverage and product platform.

Corporate Banking works closely with Citi's Capital Markets Origination, Transaction & Trade Services, and Markets product businesses to develop tailored innovative and often cross-border solutions for our clients across the full spectrum of corporate banking capabilities, such as bond issuance, derivative risk management, securities and fund services, transactional banking and trade services, and loans and working capital solutions.

The role will be to work with and support the local relationship management team with the client base and execute transactions spanning local corporates, public sector and financial institutions. The AVP will be the knowledge expert on the analyses, internal processes, documentation, multiple priorities and deadlines.

This role is an excellent opportunity to hone your existing client engagement and credit analytical skills as you prepare for future banking roles locally or offshore. We are seeking a highly motivated and committed individual with strong interests in the Institutional Banking sector.

Key Accountabilities

  • Credit analyst on a small portfolio of clients across Telecommunications, Building Products, Agriculture and Public Sector

  • Support the coverage team in developing innovative solutions that address clients’ needs and objectives

  • Review and help resolve performance metrics (eg. revenue, call reports) info discrepancies.

  • Interact with business partners to provide materials supporting various business priorities.

  • Support the country team in the implementation of regional and global initiatives


Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar disciplines

  • Strong analytical market analysis and in depth client relationships at all levels

  • Business-driven individual willing to work on the business holistically

  • Positive attitude and work ethic

  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and time management skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to execute quickly and efficiently
