Job Summary

Our Building Engineering team is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be involved in delivering electrical design packages for projects across New Zealand.

We are extremely busy on notable social infrastructure projects in the healthcare, aviation and tertiary education space as well as some high end commercial projects across the country which are fast paced and technically challenging. Not only will you work with a range of internal stakeholders, but you will also contribute to the preparation of proposals, design schedules, budgets and technical and commercial submissions for bid proposals associated with electrical work for external clients; either as standalone bids or as part of wider project teams, thereby contributing to the ongoing success of our team.

Day to day you will be pivotal in the delivery and managing of building services projects from start to finish primarily responsible for the electrical services design and construction monitoring including:

  • Design of electrical building services including (LV) distribution, power and lighting, lightning protection, communications, IT infrastructure and security systems.

  • Managing client relationships and expectations throughout project lifecycles.

  • Project management: maximising profitability of projects, monitoring against budget, reacting and anticipating potential problems and communicating in line with client expectations

  • Demonstrating technical expertise, providing in depth knowledge and leadership whilst proactively coaching and developing junior team members.

Minimum Requirements

About You

You will have gained 10+ years consultancy experience and be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified in electrical engineering or equivalent.

  • Electrical building services design and construction monitoring experience.

  • Experience of successfully managing projects.

  • A strong team player relating to colleagues at all levels.

  • A natural networker who is able to develop and build client relationships.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, at technical and commercial level with all levels of staff, clients and design partners (written and verbal).

  • Ability to be self-motivated and have enthusiasm for technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Engineer.
